Jesus is very profitable. When people come to Jesus he changes them. He fixes marriages, repairs home, brings lost children back to their parents, and raises dead businesses. Jesus repairs deprived neighborhoods and cleans them up. Coming around him changes everything around you, from inside out. I know because I have come to him and he changed my life. I have seen and heard of guys, not one, not two, millions upon millions across 2000 years who he has changed their lives too. I have heard of guys on drugs, hopeless and wasted, and then they come to him and in a matter of months they are not just delivered from their drug problem, they are completely restored people and they become highly responsible citizens of their communities. I have seen and heard of couples who are at the very verge of a marriage breakup come to him, and within 1 or so years, their marriages are transformed and their lives are changed. I have seen sinners come to him, who had no chance to life, and he took them, forgave their sins and made them brand new.
I heard a story in Dec 2014 about a woman who was USD600, 000 in debt due to sickness on her children. Things were so bad her husband ran away. The woman had nowhere to turn to, so she went to church and turned to Jesus. She came to Jesus with her broken heart, with debt and with sickness ravaging her children and slowly but surely, all her debts were paid, her business came back to life and her children restored to good health. Jesus is profitable.
This is the controversial one; Jesus is profitable, those that serve him end up becoming well to do and influential. People are vexed that pastors and ministers of the gospel become well to do, but look at it, these guys provide succor that no one else provides. Pastors have to support families in their time of grieve and pain, when they lose a loved one or are broken hearted, and for these services they do not charge a dime. Pastors have to teach and instruct people week in, week out on how to live their lives and for this service they charge no dime (at least they do not ask the people to pay consultation fees.), pastors minister to people in deep sickness and in serving Jesus help them recover or understand their pains, they counsel families, provide social events that people can come in and enjoy to lift their soul, they help people find eternal life, and they have the privilege of doing it on a large scale. Some sing, act movies, speak on radio, satellite, and make videos. Pastor become all things to all men – Servants most times, helpers, fathers, counselors, teachers, trainers, business educators, ministers, friends, standby and the list goes on and on, and they still have to go home and be daddy and husband. The point is if you serve a large enough people, it is a matter of time before you become well to do and influential, ask TDJakes, ask, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, ask Bishop Oyedepo, and think about the influence your own pastor (if you have one) has on your life and how he has blessed you. Love or hate the pastors, their influence are because of who they serve – Jesus. Peter in the bible went from fisher man to author, Olaudah Equiano went from being a slave to speaking at the parliament. The story is endless.
Finally Jesus is profitable, he is good for business, look at Christmas! Ask a manufacturer in China, ask an hotelier in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, ask a TV presenter in USA and everyone will tell you clearly, Jesus is good for business too. When people celebrate him, everyone benefits. Since Jesus came into the world 2000 years ago, countless business men and women can tell how they made money at Christmas. Have you observed the quantity of merchandise that is sold? Everyone makes money at Christmas whether you are a Christian, Moslem, gay, straight, atheist animist, Jew or gentile, everyone benefits at Christmas. If you are not selling, you are buying. China professes to be non- religious, but when it is Christmas time, some of the biggest Christmas manufacturing efforts in the world take place on their land.
Love Jesus or hate him, when people celebrate him, everyone benefits. No wonder Christmas is such a world-wide phenomenon that even people who don’t necessarily like Jesus or his people look forward to. I have heard people try to take away the Christ from Christmas season and call it holiday season. This move has been most unsuccessful and no sane business man will accept it for so many reasons, one of which is that Christmas is not the only holiday season there is, how come so much sales is made at that time? If Christ is removed from Christmas, the volume of merchandise will drop. Why is China manufacturing toys with impunity from October to December? Why is Europe agog? Why are movies selling out? Why is it that the UAE even positions itself to be the defacto holiday destination at Christmas time, because of Christmas? They know that once the 25th of December and 26th passes, that holiday and money making window is over. The quantum of gifts made and sold at Christmas is unprecedented and cannot be compared with what happens at any other time. It is the only celebration that companies start to prepare at least 3 months before the event.
The quantity of clothing sold at Christmas is also in quantum, go to turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, and see all kinds of clothing being made for the Christmas season. Think about the quantity of rice, chicken and turkey that circulates at Christmas. The travel industry is not left out. I have heard about the Chinese new-year and other religious pilgrimages, but nothing compares to the movement at Christmas. Airlines booked to the teeth, bus prices rise. Just take a trip to the bus park a few days before Christmas and see what it is like. In the city of Lagos, the switch in traffic situation is like day and night, a few days to Christmas and everywhere is blocked as people shop and travel, then Christmas sets in and the roads become virtually empty until the first or second week of the New Year.
What do we say about hairdressing salons and tailors who become overwhelmed? Eateries, brewers, everyone is busy. Whether you support Jesus or not, it is his season and you make money period.
I love Jesus, and one of the reasons I love him is because he is profitable!
