Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 reads “TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted, A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up, A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away, A time to rend and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak, A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
This scripture pretty much covers what happens in real life. We go through several seasons and times. In our own lives have seasons, some days we are happy the other day we are hostile, every one of us whether we like it or not have good time and bad time, stressful times, easy time, war times and peace times this is the cycle of life. Even the weather has seasons.
Now each season requires different set of actions. The summer and the winter, good time and bad time, war time and peace times, all require different strategies for survival. I read a speech that was made by Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, the head of the Biafran Army during the civil war in Nigeria. He said in the speech - “Every man must have 2 vocations, one during peace time and one during war times. He said, “A man could be a lecturer at peace time but an ambulance driver at war time”. Times and seasons.
Crisis times or perilous times of distress and troubles are also seasons in our lives, and God expects us to prosper and excel in those crisis times as well as we do in normal times. Ephesians 6:18 says “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty." So when season change God expects you to be consistent and not change with the season. Will you go through good and bad seasons, yes, will you fight and make up, yes, God expects you to keep prospering and enjoying good health in and out of seasons.
Let's talk about industry changes as we currently are experiencing all over the world - United States, Greece, Spain, even Nigeria. But in crisis time, companies and economies begin to come up with new strategies to help them survive and thrive in those bad times. Crisis time demand a set of actions. Ephesians 6: 13 says "Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
Crisis time requires a set of actions. "Having done all the crisis demands, stand therefore. . .”
But what is God plan for crisis season:
1. God plan for you is that all should go well with us at all times. 3 John 2 says "I wish above all things that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul prospers". God wants all to go well with at all time. This is true prosperity - That all goes well with you in and out of whatever season. This is what God has spoken about our lives, and all we have to do is take that word as ours and expect it to be our reality - That I may enjoy good health and that all may go well with me. Don't just take all the troubles you are going through, you can lay hold on the promises and by it escape the corruption, decay, distress in the world and partake in the divine nature.
2. Good times and bad times do not make any difference. To a smart business person, good and bad season does not make any difference. Good business men ride the waves. We don't stop going to work because it is raining. So also in your life, it should not make any difference whether things are bad or not. God expect you to continue to prosper at all times, good or bad season. God expects you to be a master of times so much that good and bad seasons do not mean anything to you except for a change of strategy, because you know what to do in crisis times.
3. If you are going through crisis time, it is time to begin to pray. The bible says, “Praying in all season and at all times, in the spirit. Instead of grieving and deepening your sorrow, pray. Why? Because the heartfelt continued prayers of a righteous man avails much, or does great good. All get's well. Gloria Copeland said, "An hour or two of prayer everyday and all will be well". Instead or crying and grieving, you are busy praying and praising and expecting all to get well with you. Before long, nothing big may happen, but at the end of the period, you are completely out and well. You knew what to do. One of the biggest ways to have victory in our lives is to stay in the place of prayer, continued and heartfelt, confession and obedience to the word of God.
There are five forces that if exerted will cause all to go well with you:
1. The forces of faith
2. The forces of prayer
3. The forces of obedience (to the word of God)
4. The forces of love.
5. The forces of work.
If these 5 forces are applied in your life, it will change the direction of your life and cause you to prosper in crisis time.
Memory verse:” . . . I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along very well." 3 John 2.
